Our Story
In November 2023, UK Social Worker Chenai Machinjike founded the Empowering Parents of African Children in the UK (EPACUK) platform to support African immigrant families adjusting to life in the UK. Her vision was to help parents navigate UK parenting expectations and safeguarding laws, making it easier for families to integrate into their new cultural environment.
What began as a platform to share guidance and resources quickly grew. By March 2024, EPACUK became a Company Limited by Guarantee, solidifying its commitment to empowering African families and fostering a sense of belonging within their communities.

OUR VISION
Our vision is to support African parents as they adapt to parenting in a new cultural environment. We aim to equip parents with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to confidently handle challenges while honoring their cultural values.
At EPACUK we use our extensive knowledge and experience to create and co-produce bespoke projects and offer expertise through the delivery of tailored parenting support and training to support agencies working with African Families through spot purchase services. We’re open to conversations with commissioners, engagement teams, charity partners and community leaders to find ways to partner in achieving our goal of supporting African families in UK.
